Building a transit system free of discrimination and unfair treatment

作为RTD的客户, you have the right to ride without experiencing discrimination or unfair treatment. This right is protected by Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which prohibits discrimination based on race, color or 国家的起源 in agencies like RTD that receive federal financial assistance. Colorado Revised Statute (CRS) §24-34-601 expands these protections, prohibiting discrimination based on race, color or 国家的起源 as well as 信条, 性, 性取向, 性别认同, 性别表达, 婚姻状况, 残疾或血统.

RTD is committed to ensuring that no person is excluded from participation in, 或者被剥夺了…的好处, its services as provided under Title VI and CRS §24-34-601. Any person who believes they have been excluded from participation in 或者被剥夺了…的好处 RTD的 programs, activities or services due to discrimination on the basis of their race, color, 国家的起源, 信条, 性, 性取向, 性别认同, 性别表达, 婚姻状况, 残疾或血统 should file a Title VI or CSR §24-34-601 complaint form.

You must file a written complaint within 180 days from the date of the alleged discrimination.

    • Date(s) on which the alleged discriminatory event(s) occurred

Once a complaint is filed, RTD will review the complaint and determine if we have jurisdiction. The customer filing the complaint (“the complainant”) will receive a letter acknowledging receipt of the complaint and steps toward resolution.

RTD allows the use of a representative to file a complaint on behalf of the complainant. The representative will serve as the point of contact for receiving communications about the complaint by the 过境股权办事处. 

The investigator may interview individuals named as witnesses as well as other individuals who may have information. The investigator may also review relevant documentation and request additional information from the complainant. If the complainant does not respond to requests for information from the investigator, it may result in an administrative closure of the complaint.

Although RTD strives to resolve complaints quickly, resolution time may vary depending on factors such as the complexity of the complaint and the individuals involved. 一旦调查完成, RTD will send a final written response to the complainant by mail, 电邮或传真.
